Diptyque was founded by 3 friends in 1961 in Paris. A luxury company that produces high-end scented candles, perfumes, face and body care. The name Diptyque is from Ancient Greek δίπτυχος (díptykhos) and refers to a painting or sculpture composed of two panels. Diptyque originally offers printed fabrics but scented candles became their primary focus by 1963. The brand then expanded to scented waters and home, body and face care products. In 2005 the company was purchased by London-based Manzanita Capital.
