About Nars

NARS Cosmetics is a French Cosmetics sold in US founded by François Nars in 1994.  François Nars is a photographer and makeup artist and started selling lipsticks in Barneys New York.   NARS cosmetics were sold to Shiseido in 2000 and Nars remain as the Artistic Director to lead the brand. Following its success, NARS has now produced different multi-use beauty products.

Nars’ affinity to beauty started when he was young. Having spent much of his youth loving French Vogue than comics.  François Nars moved to New York in 1984 to pursue a career in makeup industry and artistry.  With the encouragement from the giants in the industry who saw his potential, he then decided to work with huge publications and fashion designers.  He found some success publishing some magazine editorials appearing in Vogue, Elle and others. 

Some of the best sellers that NARS has in store is the The Orgasm Blush, which has been launched in 1999 as a suit-all blush-highlighter hybrid.  The NARS’ Orgasm Blush has now reached the cult-classic status paving the way for the Cosmetic Brand to produce more and more products that became crowd favorite. The range now consists of nine products including a lipgloss, a nail colour, and in the NARS trademark, a Multiple stick.
