Pond’s is an award-winning American brand established by pharmacist Theron T. Pond in 1846. He developed what he called the “Golden Treasure” made from a medicinal tea that came from the Witch Hazel plant. It was discovered that Witch Hazel can benefit the skin by protecting it under the surface. This allowed the skin to recover itself from minor wounds and a variety of other ailments. Not long after this discovery, the substance was given the name “Pond’s Extract.”
