Number76 was founded by Daisuke Hamaguchi. He opened his first shop in 2001 and 76Cafe was established in 2003 with a café / hair salon concept. 2012 marked his first overseas expansion in Malaysia and had since grown to four outlets in the Klang Valley and one in Johor Bahru. 2016 marked another overseas expansion for Number76 with an outlet in Orchard Road Singapore.
The name Number76 was originally conceived from NALU. In Japanese, 7 (seven) is pronounced as “nana” while 6 (six) as “roku”. When abbreviated, “nana” and “roku” merges together as NALU. NALU means “waves” in Hawaiian. Number76 hopes to “Catch the Wave” and create new trends.
