Hey ladies, have y’all heard about or tried H&M Malaysia beauty products? The global fashion line is known for its cool and affordable streetwear clothes for many years now, and not long ago H&M ventured into beauty and skincare line, yasssss!!! On September 14th, H&M Malaysia sorta like opened the gates of heaven when they finally revealed their beauty department to the public a year after our neighbour, Singapore had it in their stores.

Nevertheless, we were super excited to check it out and believe it or not there are over 1000 cosmetics, skincare, beauty tools and body care for you to choose from! Yeap, it can get overwhelming with so many choices and knowing the Beauty Insider Malaysia team, we couldn’t resist but to get our hands on some of H&M Malaysia beauty products and here are our honest thoughts on em. 

Complete Breakdown Of The H&M Malaysia Beauty Line

Like we said there are over 1000 beauty products to choose from so we won’t blame you if you have a hard time to decide and picking on just a few. But don’t rush into buying em all instead take your time and analyse. Each product has a tester which you can swatch (hehe, that’s what we did). 

We swatched few of their blushes, highlighters, bronzers and foundations. And of course, we also put their lipsticks and spritzes to test too! There were a lot of things and choices and we were impressed with the first looks of the products are they look pretty at packaging and prices were pretty affordable too!

Are The H&M Malaysia Beauty Products Expensive?

Well, this is debatable because some of the products are considered reasonably priced for its quality while they are a bunch that are certainly more expensive and really worth the buy as you can cheaper alternatives at drugstores. Now, that is a long list of choices, we know! Our best advice is to try a mix and match and pick one or two products from each section. It’s hard to settle for just one or two because the chic black and white theme H&M has going on with their packaging makes each product so catchy that you can’t resist buying!!!! Plus, all the items came in an outer box, so you won’t have to worry about fingerprints from people touching the packaging before you even take it home.

Our Top Five Products from H&M Malaysia Beauty Line

We bought a bunch of stuffs but some really stood out. Below, we have picked out favourite five H&M Malaysia beauty products that are high in quality, affordable and totally deserve a spot in your beauty pouch!

1. H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher

Among all the H&M Malaysia beauty products, our most favourite is the blushers, because they’re really good. Not only do they have amazing pigmentation and buttery consistency, but the range of colours are also versatile and pretty. Plus, most of them are soft to the touch and are a serious contender to some of its high-end counterparts. We also like how the blush comes in a hexagonal, black and gold packaging. It looks super sleek, luxurious and totally Insta worthy.

2. H&M Mettalic Nail Polish

We won’t lie, we did go a little mental with the nail polishes and bought a few colours because the nail polish selection was insane! Plus, it was also budget-friendly as all shades were below RM25! It has a long staying power (stay a week without peeling). They have a wide range of colours to choose from, we particularly liked the metallic colours which works as a perfect top coat. We also like the brush which is dense and wide, makes for easy application. 

3. H&M Smoky Nudes Eye Shadow Palette

The moment we saw the Smoky Nudes Palette, our eyes popped! The palette has nine colours which work well for all skin tone!. We like that there’s a little bit of everything in this palette from shimmery shades to matte basics, you get it all! It is a perfect palette to create your everyday look and sexy night look! Though none of the colours has names, each shade has nice pigmentation and blends well. 

4. H&M Cream Lipstick (Kombucha)

First of all, can we just talk about the packaging of H&M’s Cream Lipstick, it is to die for! Among all the H&M Malaysia beauty products, the lipsticks are the most expensive looking.   The creamy formula keeps your lips moisturised and the colour payoff is thick and matte. It lasted for almost all day and the best part is even after eating and drinking, it stayed! A total love! Our favourite shade is the Kombucha red but you feel free to try all the colours and pick the one that best fits you!

5. H&M Finishing Powder

Last but not least in our favourite H&M Malaysia beauty products is the finishing powder. Light as a feather, the powder feels soft and smooth on the skin. It is translucent so goes well for all skin types and gives a nice control over excessive shine. Like most finishing powders, it didn’t take much effort to apply, and with a few sweeps, it kept the makeup intact. All in all, we think the finishing powder is a good buy given its accessible price point!

Are There Any Products That Didn’t Live Up To Expectations?

Well, though we loved most of our purchases from H&M beauty lines, there are also things that we would skip. Below are the products that we didn’t enjoy much as the rest.

1. H&M All-Day Foundation

Despite the wide colour choices, the foundation is too runny and gets cakey after some time. It is also not waterproof so it doesn’t fade over sweat. Plus, the foundation is quite expensive and there are better and cheaper options in drugstores. The formula is very drying on the skin and makes your skin look flakey and uneven. 

2. H&M Brushes & Sponges

The other things that disappointed us were the brushes and sponges. Most of the brushes that we bought are scratchy and the sponges were disappointing too. Fater just one use, the brushes became wider and hair of brushes are sharp and doesn’t feel comfortable on the skin. The sponge didn’t give the result we wanted (sadly). Hence, we think it is best to just stick to original Beauty Blender. 

3. H&M Full Lashes Mascara

Okay, the mascara is one of the most expensive H&M Malaysia beauty products but was total no for us. It didn’t deliver anything it supposed to like creating a voluminous effect, with almost faux-like lashes. The colour is too thin and doesn’t transfer onto the lashes easily and you have to reapply at least 3-4 coats to even see a visible difference. The applicator is also pretty hard to work with.

Overall, H&M Malaysia Beauty Products Are Worth It!

Overall, with a review of some of the cosmetic-staples from H&M, we think the products are impeccable in terms of quality and definitely worth the buy. Like all brands, there are hits and misses and our best advise is for you to try it out yourself and you decide if it’s worth your money. But hey, for that pricing, everything’s cool and you know how they say get rich or die trying, so the call is yours to make.
