Asian makeup, when compared to Western makeup, tend towards the natural look. We enhance our feature rather than shape our features. Embracing our natural look is our thing—we don’t just conceal imperfections with makeup, we fix them with our skin care routines and sometimes, aesthetic treatments.

Here are ten simple tricks that will make you look naturally flawless without wearing makeup:

Shape your Eyebrows

The eyebrows are one of the face’s important features. In western makeup, they always want their brows on fleek while we want ours subtle. The best way to have natural-looking brows is to shape it according to your face and eye shape. People blessed with thicker brows can shape theirs through threading. This process is a lot faster compared to tweezing. 👌

There are a few solutions for thin brows, including brow makeup and eyebrow embroidery. The eyebrow specialists always match your new brows with your important facial features such as hair colour, face and eye shape. Apply castor oil on your brows and massage it to stimulate the hair follicles. Leave it on for 30 minutes before you wash it off with lukewarm water and soap. Do this every day until you’re happy with the improvements. Normally, your new brows will grow out of shape so make sure that you shape it regularly.

Accentuate your Eyes

Make your eyes pop through curling your eyelashes. Apply a thin layer mascara to keep it fluttered. For those who does not have naturally long lashes, solutions to this include fake eye lashes and eyelash extension services from an eyelash salon near you.

Getting rid of dark circles and eye bags also enhance the look. Applying cold packs and drinking green tea helps in relaxing your eyes, especially before bedtime. In addition, you should wear a night cream with a powerful whitening effect. Try the Hyalogy Daily and Nightly Cream for the Eyes. This unique eye cream brings back the soft and nourished skin, correcting all unsightly blemishes and normalising the skin pigmentation. It also has Japanese herbal extracts which stimulate hair follicles and boost eyelash growth.

Improve your Smile

Smile with confidence at all times. Brush your teeth with using a whitening toothpaste especially after drinking teeth-staining liquids such as coffee or wine. If you have naturally grey or yellow teeth, it’s best to get your teeth whitened in a dental clinic near you.

Love your Lips

Moisturize and exfoliate your lips. Use a lip balm, this helps especially when you like wearing matte lipsticks. Exfoliate your lips once a week using a soft-bristled toothbrush.

More importantly, hydrate yourself with water and eat a balanced meal at all times.

Take care of your Hair

A lot of girls are guilty of not maintaining their coloured or treated hair. As a result, the colour fades and their hair becomes frizzy.  You can avoid any hair disasters in the future through choosing natural hair dyes. Always ask the salon’s colour technician for their recommended shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment. Schedule a regular trim to get rid of your split ends and don’t over style your hair. Curlers, blowers, and irons can take a toll on the hair.

Use Sunscreen

Sun rays ages the skin. This is because ultraviolet radiation hypes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots. People with light complexions are also in danger of skin cancer. So, don’t skip sunscreen! Always use skin care and makeup products with SPF so you’re sure you’re wearing protection whenever and wherever you are.

Don’t rub your skin too much

Avoid washing for face more than twice a day. Your skin produces natural oils to keep itself moisturised. Frequent washing will strip this oil off every time which will trigger your sebaceous glands to produce more oil.

It’s best to wash your face before bedtime. Follow it up with your regular skincare routine. In the morning, your bath is enough to clean your face.  Never rub your skin too much. That means face scrubs or other means to exfoliate your skin should be limited to once a week.

Get Enough Sleep

The beauty sleep is not a myth. A complete set of sleep, which lasts from seven to nine hours is essential for keeping your mind and body healthy. It keeps your skin in good condition. 🙂

Think about your current diet

We previously featured Lure Hsu’s skincare secrets here in Beauty Insider. If you can remember, she told the media that she avoids oily foods and she strictly follows a vegetarian diet. We don’t recommend that you follow a celebrity or any famous person’s diet. What we want you to do is to eat a balanced meal and drink at least eight glasses of water every day. 😊  The food you eat will reflect in your skin.

And finally, wear the right colours!

This is more on the fashion side of beauty, but choosing the right colour of your clothes plays an important role on the look of your skin. For example, it’s not advisable for people with pale skin to wear white. Put on clothes with bright colours such as blue, turquoise, emerald, red, or peach. Your clothes can enhance the appearance of your skin.
