Founded in 2004 by Mr. Go Wie Liem and Mrs. Sri Milani, Implora Cosmetics began as a small perfumery business with just two employees and word-of-mouth marketing. But as trends shifted, so did Implora. Expanding into cosmetics like face powder, eyeshadow, and lipsticks, the brand quickly became a trusted name in beauty. Their game-changer? The launch of Urban Lip Cream Matte — an affordable and high-quality favourite. Now under PT Implora Sukses Abadi, the brand continues to push boundaries, creating beauty and personal care products for all.
The brand will be taking part in beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2024 which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 2 to 5 October. Our Insiders are thrilled to have sat down with Mr. Valentino Angger, Brand Activation at PT Implora Sukses Abadi, to dive into all things BECBM and Implora Cosmetics’ exciting participation in this highly anticipated beauty event.
Our Interview with Implora Cosmetics
As one of the exhibitors, what excites you most about participating in beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2024, and what are your expectations for this year’s event?
We are thrilled to announce that this is our inaugural exhibition in Malaysia and a significant milestone in our export journey. We sincerely hope to return with a list of potential distributors and to commence the export of our products to Malaysia at the earliest opportunity.
Can you tell us about your latest products or services that you’re showcasing here? What sets your brand apart from other exhibitors at the expo, and are there any new products or services you plan to launch or highlight?
As one of the pioneering beauty brands in Indonesia, we are committed to delivering high-quality, affordable beauty solutions for everyone. We are confident in our flagship products, which have received multiple accolades, including recognition as the #1 lip product and #1 eyebrow product in Indonesia.
What are your main objectives for participating in beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2024, and how do you think it will impact your brand’s growth and visibility in the beauty industry?
We aspire to engage with prospective distributors who possess proven experience in the Malaysian beauty market, with the goal of achieving national distribution by 2025. Given our established reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading local brands, we believe that successfully entering the Malaysian market is both feasible and attainable.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in today’s market. How’s your brand adapting to this trend, and what steps are you implementing to ensure eco-friendly practices and responsible sourcing?
We have developed a local community initiative aimed at educating members on how to repurpose our packaging materials for reuse. Additionally, we prioritize the use of safe ingredients in all of our products.
As the beauty industry continues to evolve, what are some of the key trends you believe will shape the Malaysian market in the near future? How is your brand planning to capitalise on these trends? Additionally, what unique strategies or activities are you implementing to stand out at BECBM 2024 and engage with attendees?
Given the similarities between Malaysia and Indonesia, we believe that the Malaysian market shares core values with our brand. Through our tagline, #approvedbyme, we aim to encourage consumers in Malaysia to experience our products firsthand and join us in embracing high-quality, affordable beauty. With 20 years of experience, we are confident in our ability to stay current with emerging trends, both locally and globally.
