To be honest, hair straighteners have come a long way. Remember 10 years ago where there were only one or two hair straighteners tools found on the beauty shelf? So you have no choice but to spend hundreds of dollars to get that sleek, straight hairstyle from the expensive salons—all to assure the Rapunzel look stays on locks for months. Or that time where we borrowed our dearest friend’s hair straightener for the first time and we accidentally fried, snagged our strands and burned our ears.

A decade later, the word hair straighteners is no longer strangers to the haircare industry. Literally, you could walk in any beauty store and find like a gazillion options of straightening tools. But my question is… how trustable are they, really? Sure they’re cheap, but you will be putting your gorgeous locks in jeopardy just because you wanted to save a few dollars. Not all hair straighteners are created equal—with new technology and advances in hair care solutions, finding the best flatirons that could deliver the job can be difficult.

That’s why Beauty Insider decided to try on the #1 choice of hair tools, Panasonic Nanoe EH-HS99 Hair Straightener to see if they really live up to our expectations. According to the description, this special hair straightener uses Nanoe technology that helps to prevent moisture loss and heat damage. In addition to that, it also tightens the cuticles and restores hydration in between the hair. One user says, it leaves a longer, silkier and lustrous hair. The reviews are impressive though, but are they really? Let’s see!

Panasonic Nanoe EH-HS99 Hair Straightener Review

Right, this Panasonic Nanoe EH-HS99 Hair Straightener is nothing like any regular hair straightening tools out there. That’s why we’re so eager to try it out. Based on the description, this heaven-sent hair tool is coated with Nanoe technology, which aims to prevent moisture loss and heat damages. Moreover, it also claims to tighten the cuticle and restore moisture loss in between your strands. In result, one user claims that her hair looks sleekier, straighter and smoother compared to before. This hair straightener was also designed with ‘’Even Heat Distribution Plates’’ and five temperature settings, ranging from 150c to 230c.

The Designs

This Panasonic Nanoe EH-HS99 Hair Straightener is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the hair, with a sleek design that includes a smooth black body and rose gold accents. It features an ergonomic design that makes the tool simpler to grip, and it feels solid in your hands owing to its enhanced plates, which are 20% longer than the brand’s previous model. The hair straightener is loaded with high-tech capabilities, including the previously mentioned nanoe technology.

Though barely apparent to the naked eye, this technique employs small air holes on the plates to produce nanoe-atomised water particles that contain 1000 times more water than conventional particles, with the goal of creating silky, glossy, and moisture-rich hair. It also has anti-static technology, which helps maintain this degree of hydration. In short, if you’re battling with frizzy, brittled hair, this hair straightener will altogether help locks in moisture, tame the frizz and restore hydration between the locks—due to the water levels coated around the ceramic.

It also has heat button control on the interior of the tool that you may use to alter the temperature. The temperature starts from 150C and 230C as the highest. Another reason why this hair straightener makes a fantastic straightening tool for all hair types—because lower heat suits fine hair best, whilst thick or coarse tresses may require more heat to be successful.

Overall Performance

Overall, we find that this Panasonic Nanoe EH-HS99 Hair Straightener did meet up to our expectations. The tool’s claim to decrease frizz were indeed true after a few weeks of extensive use. With only one sweep, our hair looks smooth and lustrous, and it was considerably less frizzy, especially at the head, where we had wispy baby hairs. Our hair also felt extremely nourished, which is unusual for a gadget that depends on high heat. The description claims that the straightener helps users attain healthier hair by tightening the cuticle and moisturising as they use it, and while we can’t say whether our hair’s health was enhanced, it apparently looks improvise.

This hair straightener can also be used as a hair curler. We tried shaping waves to put the tool’s adaptability to the test. The straightener’s curved barrel made it great for generating both natural-looking waves and tighter curls, depending on the aesthetic you’re going for, and there was no snagging. When it came to manoeuvring the tool, the longer plates produced faster results, as it only took us less than five minutes to complete straighter hair style. The slanted tip and thumb-holder also made it easier to reach the root area.

Our Final Verdict

This lightweight hair straightener proved that using a hair straightener shouldn’t be complicated and time-consuming! We truly enjoyed the range of temperature settings and found it simple to turn on and off. We also liked that the designs are travel friendly, as it doesn’t take up much space. Upon using it, it readily reached the roots and the rear of the hair, and the hot plates made good contact with the hair without damaging our locks. Overall, we are satisfied with the entire experience and yes, our hair does look lustrous and less frizzy compared to before.

Panasonic’s EH-HS99 straighteners greatly pleased us, proving that beauty doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. We discovered that the nanoe technology delivered on its promises, leaving our tresses feeling nourished and visibly less frizzy, while also providing long-lasting effects in less time.
