Kate Spade

Kate Spade is a luxury house of fashion. The brand was officially launched in 1993 by journalism student from Arizona State University named Kate Spade. She started in fashion within the accessories department of Mademoiselle Magazine in Manhattan in 1986 at the age of 24. During her time there she noted the market lacked stylish and sensible handbags and decided she could fill this void. Leaving Mademoiselle in 1991, Spade focused her energy on her new venture researching fabrics, styles, production and costs and eventually created a line of six handbags with sleek yet classic shapes in unique materials but in utilitarian colours. Kate Spade Handbags was launched in 1993 and as the name implied, only sold handbags. She had her first boutique opened in 1996 and has since branched out to include accessories, clothing, shoes, eyewear and fragrances. Today Kate Spade is known for its classic appeal, a brand that can be depended upon to not only follow the latest trends but to transcend them. Kate Spade ventured into the perfume market in 2003. All their perfumes have fresh fruits and light blossoms scent. It is perfect for a casual afternoon at play or for a night on the town. Kate Spade is truly a brand that stands by optimistic femininity and distinctive principles that define their unique style.
