Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, there’s no way you didn’t hear about the largest & longest-running beauty trade shows! Beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2022 opened its doors on September 28th and ran until October 1st. The exhibition was held from 10am to 7pm during the period at Halls 4 and 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia. Since admissions were free, many of the trade visitors turned up to explore the show across four days. As beauty industry players and beauty professionals made their way to the venue for registration and collection of badges, thus began the event of everything beauty. 

Recap of Beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2022 

This year was the first exclusive collaboration between  Beautyexpo (20th Edition) and Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2022 (17th Edition). Together, the exhibition garnered over 300 exhibitors and top brands from a complete spectrum of beauty industry portfolios. Covering industries like Aesthetic, Halal Beauty Academy, Professional Beauty, Hair, Nail, Spa & Wellness, OEM/ODM, Cosmetics & Embroidery and more! Besides that, can you believe that these participating exhibitors reigned from a total of 11 countries and regions? That’s right, the exhibitors reigned from China, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Despite the array of local and international exhibitors, the exhibition featured a more prominent Korean and Polish Pavilion. 

What’s more, is that the exhibition also received a warm reception from over 8,600 visitors from 40 countries and regions. Some of whom, enjoyed the daily and exclusive VIP buyers prize draws at the show with up to 100 items at a total worth of RM25,000

The objective of this event was also to bridge businesses with potential business partners. Thus, Beautyexpo & Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2022 organised its’ integral Beauté Meeting & Exclusive Buyer Programme! This business matching programme had arranged meetings between trade visitors and participating exhibitors through the digital Business Engagement Hub, Jublia. A total of 1,650 meeting requests were received, easing the exploration of potential business opportunities seamlessly throughout the four-day show. The best part? Buyers who completed a minimum of 6 meetings also received an exclusive invite to the Closing Ceremony on October 1st

Highlights You Missed

Furthermore, there were also 3 key areas for knowledge sharing – Main Stage, Seminar Room (Beauty) and Seminar Room (Hair). If you weren’t able to make it this year, here were some of the highlights. 

The main stage programme featured quite a lot of insightful knowledge in the beauty industry across the four days. Including programs like the official MOU Signing Session with the Malaysia Cosmetology Chamber of Commerce (PAMM), Association of International Certified Aesthetician (AICA), Federation of Chinese Physicians & Acupuncturists Association of Malaysia (FCPAAM), Ipoh Hairdressers Association (IHA), Kuching Hairdresser Association (KHA) and STCM. 

For hairstylists, there was Asia’s first Copy the Cut 2022 Competition by Andis. The show also featured a special KOL sharing on the hair industry featuring Datin Dt Winnie Loo, Glen Hew, Keith Lui HE, Raymond Chin, Kenli Low, Ab Wong and hosted by Samuel Ng.

Nail techs loved the 2nd Malaysia Glory Cup Nail Competition by Youshine while aestheticians enjoyed the Beauty, Acupuncture & Aesthetic sharing by the Supporting Associations and Association of International Certified Aesthetician (AICA). The show also featured a special KOL sharing on the hair industry featuring Datin Dt Winnie Loo, Glen Hew, Keith Lui HE, Raymond Chin, Kenli Low, Ab Wong and hosted by Samuel Ng.

Closing Ceremony

As the 4-day trade exhibition came to an end, a closing ceremony was held on October 1st where Gerard Leeuwenburgh, country general manager of Informa Markets Malaysia gave a closing speech. In his speech, Leeuwenburgh reiterated the challenge of a 2-year hiatus and expressed the gratitude Informa Markets had for hosting such an incredible event filled with knowledge-sharing demonstrations, exciting hair & nail competitions, as well as the Beauté Meeting & VIP Buyer Programme. Having been powered and supported by Cosmoprof Asia, Beautyexpo and Cosmobeauté Malaysia hope to reinvigorate the beauty industry and accelerate the nation’s economic growth in the coming years. 

It is also important to note that Beautyexpo and Cosmobeauté Malaysia serve as a gateway for international beauty professionals to tap into Malaysia’s local market. For local beauty businesses to showcase their strengths through quality Malaysian professional products and services that match the global standard. Showing the world just what Malaysia has to offer! 

Not only was this show a unique opportunity for South-East Asian professionals in the beauty industry, but it also shed light on many emerging industry trends while showcasing all the brands and organisations on the frontline of innovation in the ASEAN market.
