We are spoiled with choices, given the vast number of liquid foundation brushes on the market today. The wide price differentials can be confusing too, especially since your choices all appear to be synthetic fibres.

The reason for synthetic material being the ideal fibre material for a liquid foundation brush is that it absorbs liquid foundation on its fibres and then transfer it to skin. Synthetic hairs are suitable for both liquid and powder products whereas natural hairs are more suitable for powder products.

Liquid foundation brushes should not be too soft or too sparse. As they will then absorb too much liquid, wasting products and becoming ineffective by not performing its functions. If they are too dense, they may be too hard on the face when they should be gentle.

Beauty Insider Malaysia has put together a list of 5 top liquid foundation brushes costing between RM100 and RM250 (order in terms of cost – from highest to lowest):

Sigma Beauty 3DHD Kabuki Brush RM160

Sigma Beauty brushes are of good value for money.  Unfortunately in Malaysia, they are not available in retail shops, hence consumers can’t test use them. They are only available through Sephora online or Zalora online.

Their flat and rounded liquid foundation brush, the Sigma Beauty F80 Flat Kabuki Brush, is great and costs RM102. But, the angled kabuki brush gives you added advantages: the pointed edge is good for the nose areas and you could use one side of the brush to add liquid foundation and the other side to even it out or to blend.
